Daybreak - Solo for Tenor Steelpan

$12.00

Difficulty: Beginner/Intermediate

The inspiration for "Daybreak" comes from a sunrise on a very still morning while camping on by a lake. The sunrise was particularly beautiful and slowly developing from color to color. Musically, this piece brings moto perpetuo to mind. There is lots of room for expression and opportunities to improve on touch especially to bring out the melodic line over an ostinato. The use of delay and reverb effects are optional but they can really serve to add some more character to the performance and are meant to imitate ripples across water. At just under 3mins long, this solo is a great way to showcase the beauty of the tenor pan.

This solo is on the Texas UIL PML- Grade 3 (Steel Pan Solo Category)
