West Face is a 3 movement work for Keyboard and Drum Set both played simultaneously by one player. Each movement can stand alone but work better as a larger work, The movements become successively more difficult. This piece will require a significant amount of coordination to execute. The piece was inspired by some rock climbing exploits which required great planning and coordination to accomplish. Performance Advice: The performer should be creative with the problems faced in this piece. It is up to the performer to decide which hand is designated for the keyboard (occasionally both hands will be required). Most of the hi-hat notes should be played by a foot.
