Melt is a 3-minute Calypso with a warm welcoming tone. The title comes from the feeling of melting into relaxation. My mind goes to lying in a chair on the beach in the sun. Your muscles relax and your limbs go limp. Some people might go to sleep when that happens but I love being at that point and just staring at the ocean.
There are only 3 distinct phrases of music to learn in this piece and the melodic rhythm never strays from half, quarter, and 8th notes. Triple guitar has a consistent 1 ah + 3 ah + strum while the bass stays on half and quarter notes. The drums play a calypso, making it the most difficult part of the piece. Feel free to add people into the engine room as needed/wanted.
