Firecracker

$25.00

Difficulty: Beginner

Firecracker is a 3.5-minute Doo-Wop rock piece that students will love for its low pan feature and steady driving feel. After watching a local fireworks display on the river I wrote this to try to capture the feeling of awe, lift, and simple cool factor.

There are only 3 distinct phrases of music to learn in this piece that occur in a few iterations. This piece could benefit from a cowbell and tambourine if you have the personnel. The melodic rhythm is the most difficult in this pack. ! e ah 2 + is the most characteristic rhythm and also the hardest so if you feel that can be taught easily then this piece should come together very quickly.

This piece is also available in the collection called “Another 6 Compositions for Early Steelband” and the “Early Steelband Jumpstart Pack”
